Disciplines

Windsurfers are the fastest monohull sailing crafts in the world today. It is believed that there are more windsurfers worldwide today than all other sailboats combined, and their popularity continues to grow. This is due to the craft's small size, low cost, portability and the excitement of "flying" over the water as if there were no craft below. There are many different disciplines in windsurfing, but I specialize in the four racing disciplines of Olympic RS:X, Formula, Slalom and Speed.

Windsurfing equipment comprises 6 basic pieces; the board, fin, sail, mast, boom and extension. Each discipline has different sizes for each of these components. The different racing board types are pictured below.
